Dublin learning Tour

At Fundación Viva we don’t stop and we continue to learn from the best!

We said present with an agenda full of new challenges and learning in Dublin, Ireland, where we met different foundations and social organizations to share knowledge and new practices to fly to another level✈️

First stop: FoodCloud, an organization that fights hunger and decreases food waste with technology developed to facilitate the donation process and connect those who have with those who need. We were able to identify great work possibilities and models that, together with different food banks, we can replicate in Colombia.

We also visited Jigsaw, a non-profit organization that works for the mental health of the young population, ensuring early attention and the development of skills to face any mental or emotional situation.

We then met with Krystian Fikert, award-winning social entrepreneur and founder of MyMind, Ireland’s largest mixed-race, multilingual mental health service. It offers affordable and accessible mental health services within the community, with which it aims to avoid the need for clinical referral, long waiting lists and high-cost services.

In addition, we learned more about the importance of generating opportunities for all and continuing to promote our #VivalaInclusion projects, which is why we met with Edel McKinley, CEO of the Migrant Rights Center Ireland (MRCI) Center for the Rights of Ireland Migrants, an organization that works to promote the labor rights of migrants and their families at risk of exploitation, social exclusion and discrimination. Together with them we talked about the great challenges we have as a society to provide real opportunities for equality and access to decent work for migrants.

Our last landing was at Books at One, one of the social enterprises supported by our main sponsor: One Foundation. Books at One is a bookstore and social enterprise that understood the need to provide access to reading in rural areas of Ireland and turned it into a solution, through reading it manages to boost the economy of small communities, promotes talent local and in its space allows the meeting of the community.

We are very excited to be able to apply everything we have learned with our allies and that Colombia🇨🇴 is not only a tourist destination but one toland with opportunities.

Let´s fly together
